Annual Meeting: 2011 – Education Progression for NJ: Ensuring a Diverse and Qualified Nursing Workforce for Tomorrow

In late October, the New Jersey Nursing Initiative (NJNI) introduced the newest nursing scholars, joining scholars from the second cohort of New Jersey Nursing Scholars in Princeton, New Jersey. NJNI’s third annual meeting offered three days of presentations and workshops for scholars, faculty and industry leaders to network and learn about new developments in the field of nursing.

Eighteen new graduates in New Jersey have become the first Robert Wood Johnson Foundation New Jersey Nursing Scholar alumni, and many are beginning careers as nurse faculty in the state this fall.

The scholars all earned master’s degrees, and are the first set of graduates of the New Jersey Nursing Initiative’s innovative Faculty Preparation Program.
