Faculty Preparation Program – Part 1

The New Jersey Nursing Initiative’s Faculty Preparation Program, sponsored by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF), gave scholarships to registered nurses interested in becoming nurse faculty in the state.  Through its grantees, the schools of nursing, the program developed innovative curricula to ensure that New Jersey’s institutions of higher learning are prepared to meet the health care challenges of the 21st century. Those who were selected as RWJF New Jersey Nursing Scholars received generous benefits and support to help them complete their graduate or doctoral studies.  Each scholar received a scholarship covering tuition and fees, and a $50,000 per year stipend to cover living expenses for the two to four years spent as full-time students.  Each scholar also received a laptop computer.
