Peter Inverso

Former State Senator, Peter Inverso was the president and CEO of Roma Financial Corporation. Inverso was a member of the New Jersey State Senate from 1991 to January of 2008, representing the 14th legislative district in Mercer and Middlesex counties. Inverso currently serves as the Chair of Catholic Charities Diocese of Trenton and The Capital City Redevelopment Corporation. Inverso is the past chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Robert Wood Johnson Health Care Corporation at Hamilton. During his time in the state Senate, Inverso sponsored “Megan’s Law,” which requires sex offenders to register on an Internet database, as well as the School Breakfast Program, the Outstanding Scholars Recruitment Program, and the Electric Discount Energy Competition Act, among others. Inverso is a trustee emeritus of Project Freedom, which provides housing assistance for people with disabilities, and was a board member of Angel’s Wings, which provides respite care for at-risk children under the state’s care. Inverso has a BS in Commerce and Accounting from Rider University and an Honorary Doctor of Law degree from the College of New Jersey.
